Marvin’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Bachelor in Physiotherapy, supplemented by certifications in Strength and Conditioning and Nutrition. This diverse education provides him with a comprehensive understanding of health, encompassing both physical rehabilitation and dietary considerations.
From a young age, Marvin has been an avid football player, a passion that has seen him play for several top teams in Auckland and abroad. His love for the sport not only fuels his enthusiasm but also informs his approach to physiotherapy, blending practical experience with academic knowledge.
Marvin’s journey into physiotherapy was driven by his lifelong fascination with human physiology and physical performance. This intrinsic motivation, coupled with a desire to aid others in improving their physical abilities, led him to a career where he can combine his interests and make a significant impact. One particularly memorable achievement was assisting a football player through the recovery process after three ACL reconstructions and multiple meniscus repairs.
Seeing the athlete return to competitive play was a profoundly rewarding experience that highlighted the resilience of both the human body and spirit.
Specialising in optimising physical performance, Marvin focuses on refining movement patterns and biomechanics to prevent injuries and enhance athletic capabilities. He remains at the cutting edge of his field through a commitment to continuous learning. Marvin reads 24 educational books and listens to 12 educational podcasts annually, keeps up with the latest research, and attends physiotherapy symposiums across the country. This dedication ensures he maintains a high level of expertise and skill in his practice, enabling him to provide the best possible care to his clients.
